Soldier Critically Wounded in West Bank Road Attack; Assailant Neutralized

A Palestinian assailant rammed his vehicle into security forces at the Beit Horon checkpoint on Route 443, west of the West Bank settlement of Beit Horon, critically injuring a soldier. The soldier, described as being in his mid-30s, was unconscious and evacuated for medical treatment. Security forces on the scene neutralized the attacker.

Paramedics from Magen David Adom and the IDF's medical corps provided initial treatment to the soldier, who sustained severe injuries. Eyewitness accounts from the scene described moments of panic following the attack. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that security forces eliminated the assailant who carried out the attack at the checkpoint in the Benjamin Brigade area.

First responders from United Hatzalah reported treating a man in his 30s or 40s who was hit by the vehicle and was in serious, unstable condition. They administered life-saving treatment, including respiratory support and medication, before he was transported to the hospital. Police stated that the vehicle targeted a police car, injuring one of its occupants, a soldier who was working with the police as part of a joint effort. The assailant was killed by forces present at the scene.

The attack on Route 443 follows a recent surge in violence in the region, including a shooting attack earlier in the week near the settlement of Halmish, where a Palestinian assailant killed Natanel Shicron from Eli Zahav.
