Soldier Critically Injured in West Bank Car-Ramming Attack

A soldier was critically wounded Wednesday afternoon in a car-ramming attack on a service road adjacent to Route 443 in the West Bank. The attacker was neutralized by soldiers at the scene as he attempted to flee, according to Israeli police. The incident occurred near the Maccabim checkpoint, where an Israeli police traffic brigade team was conducting routine checks. Police stated the terrorist accelerated towards security forces, striking a soldier who was accompanying the officers as part of a joint deployment, a common practice in the area. Magen David Adom received an alert at 4:54 PM regarding a man struck by a vehicle on Route 443, heading west from Beit Horon. The victim, unconscious, was treated by MDA and IDF medical teams before being evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. The hospital reported the soldier was admitted unconscious to the trauma unit and received life-saving emergency care. He was later moved for imaging scans, and his condition remains serious, requiring sedation and respiratory support. Following the attack, the IDF deployed significant forces and established roadblocks in the area. Police investigators from Modi'in Illit, traffic police, and forensic specialists from the West Bank district have launched an investigation and are collecting evidence at the scene. The commander of the West Bank district, Moshe Pinchi, and the commander of the Samaria region, Avi Cohen, visited the site to assess the situation with deployed forces.
