Israeli Ambassador to US Reports Son's Condition Stabilized After Attack

Yechiel Leiter, Israel's Ambassador to the United States, provided an update on his son Neriah's condition following a severe injury sustained in an attack on Route 443. Speaking Thursday morning from Shaare Zedek Medical Center, Leiter described the past night as "very complicated," admitting there was fear he would receive devastating news. "Thank God, the doctors managed to stabilize his condition overnight, but his life is still in danger," he stated.

Leiter expressed hope for his son's recovery, contrasting the current situation with the death of his other son, Moshe, who was killed leading forces in combat. "Moshe died immediately, there was no possibility to transfer him to doctors, no opportunity for the family to gather and pray," Leiter recalled. He noted that the entire nation is praying for Neriah's recovery, emphasizing the significant role his son has played since his brother's death.

Leiter also connected the attack on his son to broader issues of violence, stating that he had been asked about violence in Judea and Samaria during an interview. He explained that this violence is perpetrated by Palestinians against Jews with the aim of expelling them from the land.
