Magen David Adom Treats Over 3,300 During Yom Kippur
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that its teams provided medical treatment to 3,322 individuals across Israel during Yom Kippur. Of those treated, 2,268 were transported to hospitals. This included 368 people who fainted, suffered from dehydration, or felt unwell due to fasting.
During the holiday, MDA teams responded to 299 injuries related to cycling, scooters, and skateboards, with 290 classified as minor and 9 as moderate.
In incidents of violence, 40 people were injured. These included a fatality in Umm al-Fahm, a serious injury in Be'er Sheva, 5 moderate injuries, and 33 minor injuries.
Road accidents resulted in 46 injuries, including two fatalities aged 45 and 31. A critical injury was reported for a person around 50 years old, a serious injury for a 37-year-old woman, along with 3 moderate and 39 minor injuries.
MDA also facilitated 155 hospital transports for women in labor and assisted in five births in Bnei Brak, Jerusalem, Hasmonean, Ashdod, and Yavne'el. Additionally, MDA's blood services supplied hospitals with 152 units and components of blood during the day.
