Magen David Adom Paramedics Treat Over 3,300 Israelis During Yom Kippur
Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics provided medical assistance to 3,322 Israelis nationwide during Yom Kippur, the organization's press service reported. Of those requiring aid, 2,268 were transported to hospitals.
According to the report, 368 individuals experienced fainting, dehydration, or general malaise attributed to fasting. Additionally, 299 people sustained injuries from riding bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, and skateboards, with nine of these cases involving moderate injuries.
Criminal incidents resulted in 40 injuries, including one severe injury in Be'er Sheva. In Umm el-Fahm, the death of a man, approximately 40 years old, was confirmed. Police stated he was an undocumented individual from the Palestinian territories, and the circumstances of his death are under investigation.
Road accidents claimed the lives of two men, aged approximately 45 and 30. One other person was critically injured, and one woman sustained severe injuries in traffic incidents. MDA teams also facilitated the transport of 155 women in labor to hospitals, with five babies born en route.
During the holiday period, MDA's blood bank supplied hospitals with 152 units of blood and blood components.
