Israeli Man Dies From West Bank Shooting Attack; Second Incident Foiled
A 30-year-old man, who was critically injured in a shooting attack near the Ein Raya spring in the West Bank, has died from his wounds at Beilinson Hospital. The attack, which occurred near the Jewish settlement of Halamish (Neve Tzuf), involved an armed assailant who opened fire with an automatic weapon, wounding several Israelis before fleeing the scene. In response, the Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Eyal Zamir, ordered an increased military presence in Judea and Samaria. Israeli forces have surrounded the Palestinian villages of Nabi Saleh, Deir Nizam, and Umm Safa, located near the site of the shooting.
Separately, a Palestinian driver attempted to ram soldiers with his vehicle near the settlement of Ganim in northern Samaria. The soldiers returned fire, killing the driver. The military is currently searching for the perpetrator of the initial shooting attack.
