Man Killed in West Bank Shooting Attack Near Neve Tzuf

A man in his 30s was killed in a severe shooting attack near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the Benjamin region on Sunday. The victim sustained critical gunshot wounds near the Ein Ri'a spring and was evacuated from the scene while undergoing resuscitation efforts. Despite extensive medical intervention, hospital staff were forced to declare him dead.

According to initial reports, the assailant arrived at the spring area by car, exited the vehicle armed with a long rifle, and opened fire at close range on the man who was present. The attacker then fled the scene on foot. Security forces immediately raised concerns that the suspect remained armed and posed a significant threat, prompting a large deployment of Israeli military and police forces to the area.

Magen David Adom paramedics described finding the victim, aged around 30, unconscious inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. They provided immediate life-saving treatment, including blood transfusions, and transported him to the hospital while continuing to fight for his life.

In response to the incident, extensive search operations were launched by the military, including units from the Benjamin Regional Brigade and the Duvdevan unit, in close cooperation with the Israel Police. Forensic investigators from the Judea and Samaria district are conducting a thorough investigation at the scene, collecting evidence. Police and military forces are conducting intensive sweeps of the area, aided by a police helicopter and advanced drones.

As part of the ongoing manhunt, several roads in the area, including Route 465 and the roads between Ofarim and Halamish, and Halamish and Bir Zeit, have been closed to traffic in both directions. Authorities have stated that these roads will remain closed until the search is completed and are urging the public to avoid the area.
