Israeli Critically Injured in Shooting Attack Near Ramallah
A man in his thirties was critically wounded in a shooting attack near Ramallah on Sunday. The incident occurred at a spring near the settlement of Neve Tzuf, where the victim was bathing. The assailant reportedly exited a vehicle, opened fire on the bathers, and then fled on foot towards the Palestinian village of Deir Nizam.
Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched a large-scale manhunt for the attacker, deploying ground troops, including the Duvdevan unit, and aerial surveillance. Several roads in the area were closed as the search continued. The IDF also brought in reinforcements that were on standby.
Initial assessments suggest the attacker acted alone, descending from his vehicle to carry out the shooting before escaping into the nearby village. The motive for the attack is currently under investigation, though it is being referred to as a "terrorist act" by Israeli authorities.
