Israeli Man Critically Wounded in West Bank Shooting Attack on Eve of Yom Kippur

An Israeli man was critically injured in a shooting attack carried out by a passing vehicle near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the Benjamin region on Sunday evening, just before the start of Yom Kippur. The attacker reportedly exited his vehicle, armed, and fled the scene on foot.

Israeli security forces, including the IDF's Benjamin Regional Brigade, the Duvdevan unit, additional reinforcement companies, and the Israel Police, launched an immediate pursuit of the assailant. Roadblocks were established throughout the area, and forces are conducting a ground and drone search for the suspect. Air Force assets have also been deployed.

Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics treated the victim, a man in his 30s, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in critical condition. MDA paramedic David Trachtenberg described finding the man unconscious inside a vehicle and initiating life-saving treatment, including the administration of blood products, during the transport.

Police commanders, including the commander of the Judea and Samaria district, Superintendent Moshe Finchi, and the commander of the Shomron region, Colonel Avi Cohen, were en route to the scene. The search for the perpetrator is ongoing.
