Gunman Wounds Israeli Man Near West Bank Spring, Flees

A man in his 30s was critically injured in a shooting attack near the Ein Ri'a spring in the Neve Tzuf area of the Benjamin region on Sunday. The assailant, armed with a long rifle, arrived at the scene by car, exited the vehicle, opened fire on the man, and then fled on foot. Security forces fear the gunman is still armed and could carry out another attack.

Emergency medical services treated the victim, who was unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds, and evacuated him to the hospital in serious to critical condition. Paramedics described a difficult effort to save his life, involving advanced medical treatment and blood transfusions.

Following the attack, a large-scale manhunt was launched involving the Israel Defense Forces, including the Benjamin Regional Brigade and the elite Duvdevan unit, along with Israeli police. Forces have set up roadblocks, are conducting ground searches, and are utilizing drones and Air Force assets. The commander of the Judea and Samaria district police and the commander of the Samaria region are en route to the scene.

As a result of the incident, Highway 465 was closed to traffic in both directions between Bir Zeit and the Abud bypass. All relevant authorities are handling the situation, and further updates will be provided when the road reopens.
