Palestinian Terrorist Opens Fire on Israelis at West Bank Spring

A Palestinian gunman fired from a passing vehicle at Israelis bathing in a spring near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the West Bank on the eve of Yom Kippur, critically injuring one man. The attack occurred at the Ein Ra'aya spring in the Binyamin Brigade region.

Initial reports of the shooting were received by the IDF spokesperson, who confirmed that security forces were dispatched to the scene. The assailant fled the area, and the IDF launched a pursuit, setting up roadblocks in the vicinity. The injured man, described as being in his 30s, was reported to be in critical, unconscious condition by rescue teams from United Hatzalah and Rescue Without Borders.

ZAKA, a volunteer emergency response organization, also reported the incident and dispatched teams to the scene. The area around Neve Tzuf has been the site of multiple shooting attacks and terrorist incidents in recent months, prompting extensive counter-terrorism operations by security forces, including the demolition of terrorists' homes and the arrest of wanted individuals.

The victims were reportedly bathing in the spring for ritual purification on the eve of Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism, which began at sunset on Sunday.
