Israel Braces for Heatwave After Cool, Rainy Weekend

Following a cool and rainy weekend, Israel is set to experience a significant warming trend starting early in the week. Temperatures will rise slightly at the beginning of the week before gradually decreasing again. On Yom Kippur, the country can expect hot and dry conditions inland, with coastal areas and the Shefela region reaching approximately 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit). High humidity, around 65%, is also anticipated in these coastal areas, contributing to a feeling of intense heat.

Sunday will see mostly clear skies across the country, with temperatures climbing to seasonal norms. Exceptionally hot weather is forecast for the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) area, the Dead Sea coast, the Jordan Valley, and the Arava desert region. Overnight conditions will be partly cloudy.

By Monday morning, variable cloudiness will persist before giving way to clearer skies later in the day. Temperatures are expected to increase further, particularly in mountainous and inland areas, before a gradual decline throughout the rest of the week. By the evening of Sukkot, weather conditions are predicted to become more comfortable.
