Israel Braces for Mild Warming Ahead of Yom Kippur, Heat Advisories Issued
Israel is set to experience a slight warming trend starting Sunday, the eve of Yom Kippur, with temperatures expected to be seasonable across most regions. The Israeli Meteorological Service has issued a heat advisory for several eastern areas, including the Judean Desert, Dead Sea region, Arava, Beit She'an Valley, Jordan Valley, Kinneret Valley, Hula Valley, Jezreel Valley, eastern Lower Galilee, and northeastern Samaria. These areas are likely to experience significant heat stress.
On Monday, Yom Kippur itself, temperatures will continue to rise moderately, particularly in the mountains and inland areas. The sea is forecast to be rough and dangerous for swimming along all Mediterranean coastlines between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
High temperatures for Sunday and Sunday night include Jerusalem (29-17°C), Tel Aviv (30-23°C), Haifa (29-22°C), Safed (28-18°C), Katzrin (33-20°C), Tiberias (34-22°C), Nazareth (32-22°C), Afula (33-21°C), Beit She'an (37-24°C), Lod (31-22°C), Ashdod (30-23°C), Ein Gedi (34-25°C), Beersheba (31-20°C), Mitzpe Ramon (30-19°C), and Eilat (36-26°C).
