Palestinian Man Arrested After Fatal Hit-and-Run in Central Israel
Israeli police arrested a 24-year-old Palestinian man from Nablus, who was residing in Israel without a permit, on suspicion of stealing a vehicle and causing the death of a cyclist while driving it. The incident occurred in central Israel.
According to a police statement, officers began investigating after a stolen car struck a cyclist. The cyclist sustained critical injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to medical sources.
Police apprehended the suspect at the scene. Accident investigators were called to collect evidence and determine the circumstances of the crash. Inside the stolen vehicle, police found a bag containing tools commonly used in car theft, including an engine ignition device, a hammer, and tools for breaking into vehicles.
