Palestinian Man Arrested After Fatal Hit-and-Run in Central Israel
Israeli police have arrested a 24-year-old Palestinian man from Nablus, who was residing in Israel without a permit, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident in central Israel. The suspect is accused of stealing a vehicle and then striking and killing a cyclist while driving the stolen car.
According to a police statement, officers began investigating after the incident where a stolen car hit a cyclist. The cyclist sustained critical injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to medical sources.
Police apprehended the suspect at the scene. Accident investigators were called to collect evidence and determine the circumstances of the crash. Inside the stolen vehicle, police discovered a bag containing tools commonly used in car theft, including an engine ignition device, a hammer, and other breaking tools.
