Palestinian Without Permit Kills Cyclist in Stolen Car in Tel Aviv

A 24-year-old Palestinian man, suspected of driving a stolen vehicle, struck and killed a cyclist in Tel Aviv on Thursday morning. The suspect, identified as a resident of the Nablus district, was reportedly in Israel without the necessary permits. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

Authorities suspect the man stole the car and, while driving it, hit a cyclist, a man in his 50s, on Yonitzman Street in northern Tel Aviv. The car reportedly overturned during the collision. The cyclist sustained critical injuries and was transported to the hospital, where medical teams pronounced him dead.

Investigators found equipment used for car theft inside the stolen vehicle, including an ignition computer and a hammer. An MDA paramedic who arrived at the scene described the event as a "shocking traffic accident," recounting finding the cyclist unconscious, without pulse or breathing, near the overturned car. He stated that resuscitation efforts were initiated before the cyclist was evacuated to the hospital.

The incident occurred amidst other recent security events, including the arrest of an infiltrator who injured a soldier after ramming a military checkpoint with a stolen car, and the apprehension of a 16-year-old suspected of breaking into dozens of vehicles.
