Dor Peretz, the Israeli Premier League scoring leader last season, is in the middle of a fast-moving transfer saga and has not yet made a final decision on his future. He recently flew to Zagreb to examine Dinamo Zagreb's offer, but he has also been considering other options, some through in-person visits and others through remote talks.
Among the clubs still in the picture is Omonia Nicosia, which has submitted an offer of more than 500,000 euros. Peretz knows the Cypriot city well. Another candidate is Hungarian side Ferencvaros, and there are still additional clubs interested. The current highest offer is believed to be Dinamo Zagreb's.
Peretz is expected to decide by the start of next week, because the clubs are unwilling to wait longer. Zagreb and Nicosia are both preparing for Champions League qualifying and want an answer soon. While Maccabi Tel Aviv is still technically an option until he signs elsewhere, the chance of him staying is said to be slim.
According to people around him, Peretz is deeply hurt by Maccabi Tel Aviv's conduct in recent weeks. A source close to him said, "If they want him, they have a very strange way of showing it to Dor. He deserves respect and proper treatment from Maccabi." Although there were recent rumors that he was using other clubs to pressure Maccabi, those close to the midfielder now believe he has given up on staying with the club.
