Missing Border Police Officer Found Dead Off Haifa Coast
The body of Sergeant Major Itai Peretzon, 23, a member of the Yamam counter-terrorism unit, was discovered on Saturday near Students Beach in Haifa, three days after he went missing. Peretzon disappeared on Thursday while free-diving without equipment. Extensive search operations, involving police, rescue units, and volunteers, were conducted by land, sea, and air. Drones, a police helicopter, boats, jet skis, horses, and all-terrain vehicles were utilized in the search, which included continuous day and night sweeps of the coastline and waters. Following the discovery, the police thanked all participating units and individuals for their efforts and extended condolences to Peretzon's family.
