Search Continues for Young Man Missing at Sea in Haifa
Search efforts are ongoing for a young man who entered the water at Students Beach in Haifa on Thursday evening and has not yet been found. Police forces, under the command of the Carmel District commander, have been working continuously throughout the night to locate the missing individual. The search encompasses the sea, air, and coastline, utilizing a variety of resources.
Israel Police Commissioner, Superintendent-General Danny Levi, and Coastal District Commander, Superintendent Yechiel Bohdana, visited the scene to assess the situation and receive updates on the search operations. Participating in the extensive search are officers and volunteers from the Carmel District, Border Police combatants, the maritime police, the aerial unit, all emergency and rescue services, and the Haifa Municipality. ZAKA volunteers are also actively involved.
ZAKA received a report on Thursday evening about a man who entered the sea at Students Beach and did not emerge. ZAKA volunteers from various units were dispatched and are cooperating with the maritime police and the Lahava unit. ZAKA's Northern District commander, Rabbi Anshel Friedman, stated that volunteers have been assisting since the early morning hours. ZAKA's special units commander, Haim Otmezgin, added that volunteers are employing available technologies in collaboration with the maritime police and Lahava to aid in the search.
