Massive Search Underway in Haifa for Missing Young Swimmer
An extensive search operation is underway in Haifa for a young man, approximately 20 years old, who disappeared while swimming at Students Beach on Thursday afternoon. The man had entered the water with a friend, who later exited the sea on a kayak. When the friend realized the other man had not resurfaced after a prolonged period, he alerted emergency services.
The search efforts, which began Thursday afternoon, continued throughout the night and involved a significant deployment of resources. Participating units include the Carmel District Police, marine police, the elite Lehava rescue unit, ZAKA volunteers, and a jeep unit. Drones and a helicopter from an aviation unit are surveying the area from the air, while boats and jet skis are searching the water. Foot patrols, motorized groups, and mounted police are covering the coastline.
Official statements confirm that police and rescue forces are actively searching the beach and sea for the missing individual. The operation is ongoing as authorities hope to locate the young man.
