Alexis Serna Transfer to Beitar Jerusalem Reportedly Finalized
Colombian club Independiente Medellín has reportedly agreed to transfer midfielder Alexis Serna to Israeli Premier League club Beitar Jerusalem, according to reports from South America on Wednesday. The deal is said to be worth $550,000, excluding potential future bonuses and a percentage of the player's rights retained by Medellín.
Beitar Jerusalem has confirmed significant progress in negotiations for the 28-year-old player, who is considered their primary midfield target. Initial offers from Beitar, including a loan with an option to buy and a subsequent $400,000 bid, were previously rejected by Medellín.
Serna, who stands at 1.70 meters tall, recorded 3 goals and 2 assists in 25 appearances last season. He is currently under contract with Independiente Medellín until the end of 2027.
Independiente Medellín has had a disappointing start to their season, suffering losses of 4-1 to Maccabi Netanya and 3-0 to Hapoel Tel Aviv in their first two matches. They secured their first points of the season on Monday with a 1-0 victory over Bnei Sakhnin.
