Beitar Jerusalem Pursues Alexis Serna Despite Colombian Club's Resistance
Beitar Jerusalem is still reeling from their recent loss to Hapoel Tel Aviv and recognizes the need to strengthen their squad under coach Almog Cohen, with the search for a central midfielder ongoing. The club has identified Alexis Serna as their primary target to bolster the midfield, despite Independiente Medellín's insistence on keeping the player, according to Colombian media reports. Beitar Jerusalem has presented Medellín with a transfer proposal and remains hopeful of bridging the gap in negotiations for the 28-year-old player, whom the club is very keen to acquire.
Sources within Beitar indicated that Johan Torres was considered but was a lower priority and is now nearing a move to Maccabi Netanya. Serna, who stands at 1.70 meters tall, recorded 3 goals and 2 assists in 25 appearances last season. He is currently under contract with Independiente Medellín for another season and a half, through the end of 2027.
