Beitar Jerusalem Ups Offer for Midfielder Alexis Serna
Beitar Jerusalem has submitted an improved offer of $550,000 to acquire Colombian midfielder Alexis Serna from Independiente Medellín. This latest bid, which excludes potential future bonuses and a percentage of the player's rights, comes after two previous offers were rejected by the Colombian club. Initially, Beitar proposed a loan deal with an option to buy, which was turned down. Their second offer, for $400,000, was also unsuccessful.
The Israeli club is determined to sign Serna, who is considered their primary midfield target. The 28-year-old player, standing at 1.70 meters, has a contract with Independiente Medellín until the end of 2027. Last season, he made 25 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists.
Beitar Jerusalem has had a disappointing start to their domestic season, suffering losses in their first two league matches. However, they secured their first points on Monday with a narrow 1-0 victory over Bnei Sakhnin.
