Colombian Club Demands $800,000 for Alexis Serna Amid Beitar Jerusalem Transfer Talks

Colombian club Independiente Medellín has informed Beitar Jerusalem that they are no longer interested in loaning midfielder Alexis Serna and are now demanding a transfer fee of 800,000 euros for the player. Beitar Jerusalem, however, is only willing to consider a loan deal with an option to buy. The Israeli club had previously agreed to an initial framework of 250,000 euros for the loan and a 600,000 euro option to purchase.

Representatives for Serna maintain that the deal is not definitively off the table, attributing the shift in Independiente Medellín's stance to typical negotiation tactics. The player himself reportedly still wishes to move to Israel. However, Beitar Jerusalem is actively exploring other candidates and is unwilling to wait indefinitely for a resolution.

This development follows reports from Colombia that Independiente Medellín had rejected two previous offers from Beitar Jerusalem, deeming them too low. Serna, 28, had previously agreed to personal terms with Beitar Jerusalem, who viewed him as a key midfield reinforcement. Beitar Jerusalem's management had expressed strong interest, with one official stating, "Almog Cohen really wants the player, for him this is what he was looking for." Serna has been with Independiente Medellín since early 2025, has not played since early June, but has returned to full training. He made 25 appearances across all competitions this past season.
