Yesh Atid Unveils Knesset List Ahead of Merger
Yesh Atid party chairman Yair Lapid released his list of candidates for the upcoming Knesset elections on Saturday evening. The list will merge with Naftali Bennett's "Bayit Yehudi" party to form a single electoral slate. Current polls suggest the combined party will garner between 14 and 16 seats, meaning many of Lapid's candidates are not positioned in realistically winnable spots.
The publication of the list follows a wave of departures from the Yesh Atid party. Notable figures who have announced their exit from politics or their move to other parties include former ministers Karin Elharrar and Meir Cohen, as well as former Knesset Speaker Mickey Levy.
These departures come amid the anticipated merger with the "Bayit Yehudi" party, which is expected to include candidates from its own slate on the unified list.
