Yesh Atid Unveils Knesset List Amid Party Overhaul

Yesh Atid has revealed its slate for the upcoming Knesset elections, intended to be integrated into a joint list with Naftali Bennett's party, tentatively named 'Bayit Yehudi'. The party leader, Yair Lapid, described the move as a "rebuilding" and "generational change" within Yesh Atid, emphasizing the experience and capabilities of the new candidates.

The proposed arrangement places Bennett at the top of the joint list, followed by Lapid in second position. Merav Ben Ari is slated for fourth, Noam Tibon for sixth, and Miri Cohen for ninth. The remaining top spots in the first ten, along with the eleventh position, are reserved for Bennett's representatives. This reshuffling follows a significant number of departures from Yesh Atid, including former ministers Meir Cohen and Mickey Levy, and MKs Karin Elharrar and Michal Shir, who announced they would not seek re-election with the party.

Key promotions within the Yesh Atid contingent include Merav Ben Ari to a prominent position and the inclusion of retired Major General Noam Tibon. MKs Naor Shiri and Vladimir Beliak, noted for their work in parliamentary committees, particularly the Finance Committee, have also been advanced. The top ten features four women and two new faces: Tibon and Netta Attias, who has managed the Yesh Atid faction for the past decade.

The party highlighted the public and security experience of its candidates, citing a former minister, Knesset committee chairs, a former deputy head of the Mossad, and a retired general among them. The list includes Yair Lapid, Merav Ben Ari, Noam Tibon, Miri Cohen, Ram Ben Barak, Naor Shiri, Vladimir Beliak, Yorai Lahav-Hertzanu, Yasmin Sax-Friedman, and Netta Attias, each with distinct backgrounds in government, security, or public service.
