Elderly Israeli Tourist Brutally Attacked in Paris Hotel Room

An 82-year-old Israeli woman on vacation in Paris with relatives was severely injured after a drunken man entered her hotel room early one morning, apparently mistaking it for his own. The man began assaulting the woman when she screamed. She sustained serious injuries, including facial fractures and widespread bodily harm, and was hospitalized in Paris. Plans are underway to transfer her to Israel for further treatment.

Relatives staying in an adjacent room heard her cries and intervened, subduing the attacker and holding him until police arrived. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs is monitoring the investigation. Officials currently see no indication of an antisemitic or nationalist motive, suggesting the incident was likely a "domestic drunken incident."

Israeli consular officials and local medical personnel are assisting the family and preparing the woman for her return to Israel for rehabilitation. The identity and nationality of the assailant, as well as the name of the hotel, have not been released.
