Elderly Israeli Woman Severely Beaten in Paris Hotel Room

An 80-year-old Israeli woman sustained severe facial injuries after being brutally attacked inside her hotel room in Paris. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. when an unknown man entered her room and began assaulting her. The victim's screams alerted nearby family members, who rushed to her aid, causing the attacker to flee. French police were called to the scene and apprehended a suspect. The woman was hospitalized with bleeding and severe disorientation. Medical examinations revealed multiple facial bone fractures requiring surgery. Her family plans to transfer her to Israel for the operation. The family has contacted the Israeli embassy in Paris and is in communication with the consul. According to the woman's son, the assailant remained silent during the attack, initially leaving the motive unclear. Israeli officials later learned the suspect was intoxicated and reportedly unaware of the victim's nationality. Authorities currently have no reason to believe the attack was antisemitic.
