76-Year-Old Israeli Guesthouse Owner Assaulted After Asking Guests to Lower Loud Music

Eitan Lindenberg, a 76-year-old owner of a guesthouse in the Moshav Shde Eliezer, was brutally attacked by guests after he asked them to reduce loud music late at night. Lindenberg, who has managed the guesthouse for over 35 years, described how the situation escalated when one female guest shouted insults at him and her partner suddenly emerged from the pool, grabbed him by the throat, threw him to the ground, and sat on him. Bystanders intervened to free Lindenberg, who suffers from heart problems and experienced a rapid heartbeat due to the trauma.

Following the assault, Lindenberg's wife instructed the guests to leave immediately and refunded their money. Police and emergency medical teams arrived at the scene, reviewed security footage, and arrested the suspect that same night. Despite the severe attack and humiliation, Lindenberg stated he does not intend to stop hosting guests but expressed deep feelings of helplessness over the violent incident.

This attack has shocked both the local and national communities and highlights a troubling rise in violent behavior in public spaces across Israel. The incident follows other recent violent episodes, including an assault on a public transportation inspector in Givat Zeev two weeks prior. Lindenberg’s case raises concerns about deteriorating social conduct and safety in communal environments.
