Eilat Resident Charged With Assaulting Elderly Man at Bus Stop
Police have filed an indictment and a request to detain a 48-year-old Eilat resident until the end of legal proceedings, on suspicion of assaulting a 70-year-old man while he was at a bus stop in the city, with no prior acquaintance between them.
According to the investigation into the incident, which occurred last Sunday, the suspect began cursing at the elderly man, pushed him and caused him to fall. He then slammed the man's phone to the ground and shattered its screen. Later, he picked up a brick and held it above his head, intending to throw it at the elderly man, but two civilians who were at the scene prevented him from doing so.
