Elderly Israeli Woman Brutally Attacked in Paris Hotel Room
An 80-year-old Israeli citizen vacationing with her family in Paris was severely assaulted early Tuesday morning when an intruder broke into her hotel room at approximately 3 a.m. and began punching her in the face. The attack ceased only when the woman screamed for help, alerting her relatives who rushed to her room. The assailant was apprehended by police shortly after.
The victim was transported to a hospital with facial injuries, bleeding profusely and disoriented. Medical examinations revealed fractures to her face, necessitating surgery. Her family intends to fly her back to Israel for the procedure.
According to reports, the family contacted the Israeli embassy in Paris, and the consulate has been involved. Initial findings suggest the attacker was intoxicated and unaware of the victim's nationality. Authorities familiar with the case currently have no reason to suspect an antisemitic motive.
