Elderly Israeli Tourist Brutally Attacked in Paris Hotel Room

An 80-year-old Israeli woman was severely assaulted in her hotel room in Paris early Friday morning by an intoxicated intruder. The attacker reportedly broke into her room around 3 a.m. and began beating her while she was in bed. The woman's family, staying in nearby rooms, heard her screams, rushed to her aid, subdued the assailant, and prevented further harm. French police were called to the scene and arrested the suspect.

Paramedics treated the woman for extensive facial fractures and disorientation before transporting her to a Paris hospital. Due to the severity of her injuries and the trauma, her family has opted to have her return to Israel for necessary surgeries and recovery, rather than undergo procedures in France. Efforts are underway to arrange her swift transport back home.

Initial concerns that the attack might have been motivated by antisemitism were reportedly dismissed by authorities. According to French media and Israeli consular officials in Paris, the suspect was heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident and showed no awareness of the victim's nationality or background.
