Elderly Israeli Tourist Brutally Beaten in Paris Hotel Room

An 80-year-old Israeli tourist was severely beaten in her Paris hotel room by an intoxicated assailant who broke in around 3 a.m. on Friday, September 4. The woman, who was traveling with family, was attacked by a man who entered her room and began punching her in the face. Her screams alerted her relatives, who rushed to her aid and called the police. The attacker was apprehended at the scene.

The victim was hospitalized with a bleeding face and severe disorientation. Medical examinations revealed facial bone fractures requiring surgery. Her family plans to transfer her to Israel for the operation. They have contacted the Israeli Embassy in Paris and are in communication with the Israeli consul.

The victim's son stated that the attacker entered the room at 3 a.m. and began punching his mother, without speaking. He added that the assault stopped only after his mother cried for help and that the motive remains unknown. According to the Israeli consul's investigation, the assailant was drunk and unaware of the victim's nationality. Sources familiar with the incident indicated there are no suspicions of an antisemitic motive.
