Elderly Israeli Woman Severely Beaten in Paris Hotel Room

An 82-year-old Israeli woman was hospitalized in serious condition after being brutally attacked by a drunken man who entered her hotel room in Paris. The incident occurred early Friday morning during a family vacation in the French capital. The assailant, believed to have mistakenly entered the wrong room, began violently assaulting the woman, causing severe injuries including facial fractures and wounds throughout her body.

Family members staying at the same hotel rushed to her room upon hearing her screams. They confronted the attacker and managed to subdue him until local security forces arrived. The woman was taken to a Paris hospital and is expected to be flown back to Israel for further medical treatment.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs is involved and providing assistance to the family through the Israeli Consulate in Paris and the Department for Israelis Abroad. Initial assessments suggest the attack was a criminal incident and not motivated by antisemitism or nationalistic reasons.

Authorities are continuing to assist the family with the woman's return to Israel for rehabilitation.
