Yoav Segalovich Joins Arab Political Party Ra'am

Yoav Segalovich announced on Monday his official joining of the Ra'am party, following negotiations between the parties. Segalovich clarified that this is a personal move and not a merger of factions. He stated that "it is impossible to lead reform in the country without connection, including political connection," explaining his decision was aimed at changing the nature of political partnership between Jews and Arabs.

Segalovich emphasized his desire to break existing paradigms of discourse and boundaries, stating, "I explicitly want to break the paradigm of boundary lines and discourse lines. Yes, I also want to break the paradigm of how political partnership is created." He reiterated that he is joining Ra'am personally, not with a faction.

Acknowledging that the move might be perceived as political weakness, Segalovich viewed it conversely: "Some will say there is political weakness in this, but for me, there is much more strength and power here." He firmly rejected the notion that the events of October 7th closed the door on political partnership with Arab parties, calling the common assertion that such partnership is impossible after October 7th "absurd and false."
