Ra'am and Former MK Yoav Segalovitch Announce Joint Political Alliance

Ra'am party chairman Mansour Abbas and former Knesset member Yoav Segalovitch have finalized an agreement for a joint political run in the upcoming elections. The two are scheduled to hold a joint press conference on Monday evening to officially announce Segalovitch's inclusion on the Ra'am list, where he will be placed in the second position.

This agreement follows months of negotiations and a recent meeting between Abbas and Segalovitch to settle the final terms of the alliance. Following that meeting, both leaders stated they had discussed "the importance of this move for all citizens of Israel and the fabric of Jewish-Arab relations," and pledged to continue advancing the connection.

Abbas previously clarified in an interview that Segalovitch would be joining the Ra'am list, not becoming a member of the party itself. He emphasized that the alliance's significance lies in strengthening "civic cohesion" and improving "the fabric of relations" between Jewish and Arab citizens, rather than electoral gains or legitimization.

During the negotiations, Abbas insisted on a technical alliance, ensuring Segalovitch would not be considered a party member and that Ra'am's internal constitution would remain unchanged. Segalovitch, in turn, sought freedom to vote on matters of religion and state and to have affirmations that Israel is the nation-state of the Jewish people enshrined. With the negotiations concluded, Segalovitch is expected to take the second spot on the Ra'am slate.
