IDF Kills Hamas Commander Behind Kidnappings of Israeli Civilians in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted an airstrike yesterday near Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, killing Ismail Barim, a commander in Hamas's military wing. Barim was involved in holding Israeli civilians Idan Alexander, Matan Tsangoker, and Avera Mengistu captive in a tunnel in the area. According to an IDF spokesperson, Barim had recently been orchestrating terrorist attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians and was working to rebuild Hamas's military capabilities, violating the ceasefire repeatedly. The strike aimed to eliminate the threat posed by Barim and disrupt Hamas's operational plans.
