Ben Gurion Airport Warns Travelers Against Private Valet Parking Services

The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) has issued a stern warning to travelers using Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) regarding unauthorized private valet parking services. The authority clarified that companies advertising services like "parking at TLV," "airport parking," or "terminal-adjacent parking" are not affiliated with the IAA, and no official valet parking service is operated by the airport.

The warning comes after numerous complaints from passengers who used these private services. Reported issues include damage to vehicles, unauthorized use of cars while owners were abroad, and the receipt of traffic tickets and fines in the owners' names upon their return to Israel. Some travelers also experienced difficulties reaching the service providers for resolution, with some providers becoming unavailable, leaving vehicle owners unable to address damages or incurred expenses.

The IAA emphasized its non-association with any private entities offering to collect and return vehicles at the terminal. The authority stated it is actively taking legal action and removing unauthorized operators from airport grounds.

Travelers arriving at Ben Gurion Airport by private car are advised to use the official IAA parking facilities, subject to availability. Free shuttle services are provided from long-term parking lots to and from the terminals. The IAA also recommends considering travel to the airport via Israel Railways or other public transportation options.

The core message of the warning is to refrain from handing over vehicles to private individuals or companies offering parking and collection services at TLV, as these services are not officially sanctioned by the Israel Airports Authority.
