Israel Airport Authority Warns Against Unauthorized Parking Services at Ben Gurion Airport

The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) has issued a public warning against using unauthorized private parking services operating at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV). The warning comes after numerous complaints from travelers, including incidents where their vehicles were driven while they were abroad. The IAA stated that private companies advertising parking and vehicle collection services, claiming to be located at or near the airport, are not authorized to operate on airport grounds.

These unauthorized services often include collecting and returning vehicles to travelers. The IAA emphasized that no official service of this nature is operated by the authority at Ben Gurion Airport. Passengers who have used these services have reported damage to their vehicles, unauthorized use of their cars during their trips, and even receiving traffic tickets and fines in their names.

The IAA is taking action against these illicit operations, including legal measures and removing unauthorized operators from airport premises. The authority recommends that travelers use public transportation, such as trains, to reach the airport.

One recent case involved a traveler named Avi, who used a service called AP Parking Services for a three-day trip to Cyprus. Upon his return, Avi checked his car's dashcam footage and discovered six videos from the day before his return showing his car being driven for what appeared to be personal use or work, while it was supposed to be parked and unused. The footage showed a man driving his car to various locations, including the airport, possibly to shuttle another vehicle. While no damage was reported, Avi noted the wasted fuel.
