Airport Authority Warns Travelers Against Private Parking Services at Ben Gurion Airport

The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) has reissued a stern warning to travelers, urging them to avoid using private valet parking services offered near Ben Gurion Airport. This follows a similar alert issued approximately a year ago, indicating the problem persists and is even being promoted through social media advertisements.

The IAA clarified that no official valet parking service is operated by the authority at the airport, and they are not affiliated with any private companies offering to collect passengers' vehicles at the terminal entrance and return them upon their arrival. The authority strongly recommends that travelers arriving at the airport use public transportation, particularly the train, or utilize the official IAA parking lots. For those using long-term parking, a free shuttle service to and from the terminals is available.

Recent complaints from passengers who used these unauthorized services include reports of damage to their vehicles, unauthorized use of their cars while they were abroad, receiving traffic tickets and fines in their name after the fact, and difficulties in contacting the service provider who allegedly disappeared after the service was rendered. The IAA stated it is taking legal action and removing unauthorized operators from the airport premises.
