Israel Airport Authority Warns Against Unofficial Parking Services at Ben Gurion

The Israel Airports Authority has issued a warning to passengers advising them against using unofficial third-party parking services at Ben Gurion Airport. The advisory, released on September 17, follows numerous complaints from travelers who utilized such services. Passengers reported issues including damage to their vehicles, unauthorized use of their cars while they were abroad, and receiving fines and penalties in their names.

The authority stated that private companies advertising car pickup and parking services, claiming to operate "at Ben Gurion" or nearby, are not authorized to operate on airport grounds. The IAA clarified that it does not officially offer such a service. "We are taking all available measures against unauthorized activity at Ben Gurion Airport, including legal action and removal from the airport premises of companies and individuals operating without a permit," the authority announced.

One passenger, Avi, shared his experience after using a company called AP Parking Services for a three-day trip to Cyprus. Upon returning, he reviewed dashcam footage from his car and discovered six instances of the vehicle being driven while he and his wife were still on vacation. Although the car sustained no visible damage, Avi noted that fuel had been consumed. The footage showed an unidentified man driving the car to various locations, and even to the airport, possibly to transport another vehicle. This incident was among those that prompted the Airports Authority's public warning.

The IAA recommends that passengers use public transportation, such as trains, to reach the airport to avoid these unofficial services.
