Airport Authority Warns Travelers Against Illicit Valet Parking Services

The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) has issued a stern warning to the public against using unauthorized private valet parking services offered to travelers at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV). These illicit services, which often advertise as "Valet Parking" or "parking at the airport," are not affiliated with the IAA and pose significant risks to travelers and their vehicles.

The IAA clarified that no official valet parking service is operated by the authority at TLV. Instead, they strongly recommend that passengers arriving at the airport use public transportation, particularly the train. For those who must drive, the authority advises using only the official IAA parking lots, which provide free shuttle services to and from the terminals for long-term parking.

Passengers who have utilized these unofficial services have reported numerous issues, including damage to their vehicles, unauthorized use of their cars while they were abroad, and receiving traffic tickets and fines in their name after the fact. Some have also experienced difficulties contacting the service providers after the fact, with some disappearing after completing the service.

The IAA is actively working to combat these unauthorized operations within the airport's jurisdiction, employing legal measures and removing individuals and entities acting without permission from airport grounds. The authority emphasizes that these private operators are not authorized to conduct such business at Ben Gurion Airport.
