Suspect Flees Jerusalem Police in Stolen Car, Dies After Crash

During the night, Jerusalem police received a report of a stolen vehicle from the Katamon neighborhood. Patrol units from the Jerusalem district spotted the stolen car and attempted to stop it. The suspect ignored police commands and fled recklessly, endangering officers and other road users by driving against traffic.

Due to the serious danger posed, police fired targeted shots at the vehicle's tires to halt the suspect. Despite this, the suspect continued fleeing until crashing into a pole and a private car at the Al-Tur junction. A police officer and a civilian were lightly injured and treated.

The unidentified suspect was evacuated from the scene in critical condition while undergoing resuscitation efforts but was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
