Jerusalem Police Chase Ends With Suspect Dead After Stolen Car Crash

In Jerusalem, a suspect involved in a stolen vehicle incident died following a police chase that ended in a crash at the Al-Tur junction. The incident began late Tuesday night after police received a report of a stolen car in the southern part of the city, specifically from the Katamon neighborhood. Patrol units from the Jerusalem district, including Moriah, Lev HaBira, and Shalem stations, identified the vehicle and attempted to stop it.

The suspect, whose identity has not been released, refused to comply with police orders and fled, driving recklessly and against traffic. Police officers, concerned for public safety, fired at the vehicle's tires in an effort to halt the escape. Despite this, the suspect continued until losing control and crashing into a pole and another car at the Al-Tur junction.

Emergency responders found the suspect in critical condition and performed resuscitation efforts before transporting him to the hospital, where he later died. Additionally, a police officer and a civilian sustained minor injuries and were treated for their wounds. The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the chase and crash.
