Suspect Dies in Jerusalem After Stealing Car and Crashing During Police Chase
A suspect who stole a car in Jerusalem died in a self-inflicted crash while attempting to flee police. The vehicle was reported stolen from the Katamon neighborhood. Police officers identified the stolen car and tried to stop it, but the driver attempted to escape by driving against traffic. Officers fired at the car's tires, yet the suspect continued fleeing until crashing into a pole and a private vehicle at the Al-Tur junction in East Jerusalem. The suspect was pronounced dead at the hospital. A civilian and a police officer were also lightly injured in the incident.
