Three Killed in Violent Family Feud Escalation in East Jerusalem's Silwan

A violent family dispute in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan escalated overnight into deadly clashes, resulting in three fatalities. The conflict began with an altercation between families that led to two men being seriously injured. Emergency medical teams found a man in his 30s with severe penetrating wounds and declared him dead at the scene. Another critically injured man was evacuated to the hospital.

Following the initial violence, the situation intensified with suspects engaging in gunfire, throwing Molotov cocktails, and firing fireworks. Police and Border Police forces were deployed in large numbers to restore order and apprehend those involved. During the operation, officers identified two suspects armed with knives and Molotov cocktails who posed a direct threat to the security forces. Police opened fire to neutralize the danger, killing both suspects on site, bringing the death toll to three.

Additional police units were called in to stabilize the area, and public order was eventually restored. Jerusalem District Commander, Chief Superintendent Avshalom Peled, visited the scene to assess the situation and praised the swift and determined response of the security personnel. The investigation into the murders has been transferred to the Crime Fighting Unit of the Kdem District. Paramedics Moti Gloshtain and Zohar Maman described their efforts at the scene, confirming the death of the first victim and the critical condition of the second injured man.
