Man Killed in East Jerusalem Family Feud as Police Shoot Two Suspects Dead
A man was killed overnight in the Silwan neighborhood of East Jerusalem amid a family dispute, according to police. The incident occurred early Sunday and involved violent clashes between families. Police reported that two additional men were shot dead by officers who arrived at the scene after the suspects were allegedly armed with knives and Molotov cocktails, posing a threat to the forces.
Local reports from East Jerusalem indicated that four people may have died in the event, though police confirmed three fatalities. During the confrontation, several suspects reportedly fired firearms, launched fireworks, and threw Molotov cocktails. Large police forces were deployed to restore public order in the neighborhood.
Jerusalem District Commander, Chief Superintendent Avshalom, conducted a situation assessment at the scene with commanding officers and officers involved. The investigation has been assigned to the Crime Fighting Unit (YALP) of the KEDAM division.
