Two Suspects Killed After Deadly Family Clash in Silwan, East Jerusalem

A violent family dispute in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan escalated overnight from Saturday to Sunday, resulting in the death of a man and the subsequent killing of two suspects by Israeli security forces. The initial victim succumbed to injuries sustained during the altercation between rival families. Following his death, tensions rose sharply, leading to public disorder involving gunfire, fireworks, and Molotov cocktails.

Israeli Border Police and police forces responded to the unrest, identifying two suspects who posed a direct threat to their lives by wielding knives and incendiary devices. Security personnel opened fire to neutralize the danger, killing both suspects on the spot. Additional police units were deployed to restore order, which was eventually reestablished, though forces remain on high alert amid fears of further disturbances.

Jerusalem District Commander, Police Commissioner Avshalom Feld, visited the scene to conduct a special situation assessment with commanders and officers involved. He praised the determination and swift response of the security forces in handling the life-threatening situation. The police continue efforts to maintain stability in the area and investigate the incident further.
