Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs Daniel Theis and Prepares Roster for Next Season

Maccabi Tel Aviv has finalized the signing of German center Daniel Theis, a key addition the club awaited throughout the summer. The 34-year-old Theis, who won both the European Championship and World Championship with Germany, played last season for Monaco. He agreed to a two-year contract worth approximately $2.2 million per season, placing him among the highest-paid foreign players in the club's history.

Alongside Theis, Maccabi Tel Aviv is close to announcing another center, Armando Bacot, who has already agreed to terms. The team is also focusing on strengthening its backcourt, likely adding a guard to replace Loney Walker, whose status remains uncertain.

The current roster includes point guards Yam Madar, Ifa Lundberg, and Jimmy Clark; shooting guards John DiBartolomeo and Amit Abo; small forwards Bonzi Colson, Oshae Brissett, and Will Rayman; power forwards Jalen Hood, T.J. Leaf, and Gur Lavi; and centers Daniel Theis, Roman Sorkin, and Armando Bacot.

Regarding salaries, Theis's contract matches Loney Walker's $2.2 million per season, making them the second-highest earners in club history behind Carlos Arroyo, who earned $2.5 million. Other notable salaries include Ifa Lundberg at around $2 million and Jalen Hood at $1.8 million under his new deal.

Maccabi Tel Aviv continues to build a competitive squad for the upcoming season, focusing on completing its roster with key signings in the backcourt and frontcourt positions.
