Maccabi Tel Aviv is finalizing the signing of German center Daniel Theis less than two months before the EuroLeague season begins. Theis agreed to a contract without an exit option, marking a significant acquisition for the European champions. Beyond financial terms, Theis presented unusual requests as part of his deal, revealed in the "Press Box" segment. He insisted on having a dog walker available for his pets both in Israel and in Belgrade, where Maccabi will host EuroLeague games until they potentially return to Israel later in the season. Additionally, Theis requested that all his products be exclusively German-made, including his car, reflecting his preference for items from his homeland. Theis previously played one and a half seasons with Monaco, averaging 9.7 points per game with a 69.2% shooting rate and 5 rebounds, including 1.7 offensive rebounds.
